Our Social Impact

We exist to make a profound difference to the lives of our clients. We also strive to positively impact the world and communities around us by having fun, bettering ourselves and staying curious. Here is how…

Mizen to Malin Fundraise Cycle

Pacem’s Kevin Kelly and Lizzy Crossan, along with other members of TeamBigDanny, were delighted to hand over a cheque for £10,635 to the Friends of the Cancer Centre Charity at Belfast City Hospital. The money was raised as part of a charity cycle from the most southerly point in Ireland to the most northerly and was in memory of our good friend and client Danny Gallagher who passed away at Christmas.

The cycle was organised by Pacem Partner Kevin Kelly who talked three of his friends into undertaking the challenge. Kevin explains ”We are not great cyclists, in fact we only bought bikes in February, and we’re not a pretty sight in lycra so it was always going to be an interesting 400+ miles up the west coast of Ireland”!

The core cycling team, which consisted of Kevin, Brian Rainey and Gerard Hughes and Gavin Brown set out from Mizen Head in County Cork and, following stops in Kenmare, Kilrush, Oranmore, Drumshambo and Irvinestown, they rolled into Malin Head in County Donegal to a heroes’ welcome six days later. Two Memorable Days with CHICS

Pacem recently teamed up with Liverpool-based charity CHICS (Children’s Cancer Support group) to give two amazing young lads, and their families, a memorable day out at the corporate box at Anfield. On Boxing Day our young guest of honour enjoyed watching Liverpool FC defeat Swansea City 5-0 and it was a similar story on the 12th August when our second guest watched his heroes secure a 4-0 win over West Ham Utd. It is an honour for Pacem to work with CHICS in their quest to support parents of children with cancer.

Supporting TeamBigDanny

The Pacem team was on hand to give TeamBigDanny a send off as they prepared to cycle the 400+ miles from Mizen Head to Malin Head in 6 days. Pacem Partner sponsored the team which is taking on the challenge in memory of Pacem Danny Gallagher and they are raising money for the Friends of the Cancer Centre. TeamBigDanny will set off from the most southerly point in Ireland on Sunday 5th August and includes our own Kevin Kelly.

Golf Fundraising Day

We continued our support for cancer-related charities in 2018 by sponsoring a hole at the Ronan Gilmore Memorial Golf Day which was held at Fortwilliam Golf Club on Friday 18th May. Pacem Partner Kevin Kelly (pictured at ‘our’ tee box with client John Kelly) organised the event which raised almost £3000 for The Friends of the Cancer Centre and The Lighthouse Suicide Awareness Charity in North Belfast

Our Social Impact

Over the next 12 months Pacem will engage in a range of activities aimed at supporting cancer charities. During the summer a very good friend and client of Pacem was diagnosed with cancer and it is with him in mind that we will be supporting a range of cancer related causes. The first of these was ‘Action Cancer’s clothes appeal which took place at the end of September. Representing the Pacem team at the event were Daniel, Lizzy and Tony.

Transforming Lives and the Landscape in Harryville

Pacem partners Kevin Kelly and Daniel Glover are proud to be supporting the work of Slemish n tha Braid Credit Union as it continues to positively impact lives, and the landscape, in the Harryville area of Ballymena. Slemish is one of the fastest growing CU’s in Ireland and recently opened state of the art premises in the centre of Harryville. As well as a home for the CU the ‘Raglan Building’ will provide start up space for social enterprises as part of a wider regeneration of the area. Pacem has supported the Credit Union in both investment and business growth strategies
